What drives the cost of an Android and iOS app, realistic price ranges for small and mid-sized businesses, timelines, and the running costs people forget.
Most business apps we are asked about fall into one of three groups: an app for customers to order, book or track something; an app for your own staff, such as sales or delivery teams; and a product you want to sell to other businesses. Each one costs a different amount, but the drivers are the same.
What decides the price
The number of screens matters less than people expect. What really decides the price is the number of user types (customer, staff, admin), whether people pay inside the app, whether it must work without internet, whether it talks to other software such as billing or a CRM, and the admin panel behind it. Almost every useful app needs a web admin panel, and it is often a third of the work.
Typical ranges
A simple app with a login, a few screens and an admin panel usually costs ₹1.5 to ₹3 lakh. An app with payments, bookings or live tracking usually costs ₹3 to ₹8 lakh. A marketplace or SaaS product with several user types is usually above that. Building separately for Android and iOS used to double these numbers. With Flutter, one codebase runs on both, which is how we build.
Our prices and timelines
Our app projects start at ₹1,49,000 and take six to twelve weeks from the signed scope to the store listing. That includes design, building, testing, the Play Store and App Store submission, and thirty days of fixes after launch. The developer accounts are in your company's name.
Running costs people forget
Budget for the Google Play developer account (a one-time fee of US$25) and the Apple developer account (US$99 a year), a server and database, SMS or WhatsApp messages for OTPs and notifications, and updates every year when Android and iOS change. A small maintenance plan is cheaper than fixing an app that has been left alone for two years.
Start smaller than you think
The cheapest app is the one that ships with only the features people use. We usually build the first version around one job done well, put it in front of real users, and add the rest once we know what they actually need.
