What a business website actually costs in India, what pushes the price up, what you should get for the money, and the prices we quote at LeadUp.
The honest answer is anywhere from ₹5,000 to several lakh, and the spread is the reason most business owners feel unsure when they ask for quotes. The price depends far less on the number of pages than on four things: who builds it, whether the design is custom, what the site has to do, and who looks after it once it is live.
The short version
A template site set up by a freelancer usually costs ₹5,000 to ₹25,000. A custom business website from a studio usually costs ₹40,000 to ₹1.5 lakh. An online store or a site with booking, payments or a customer login usually starts around ₹1 lakh and can go much higher. On top of the build, plan for a domain (about ₹800 to ₹1,500 a year for a .in or .com) and hosting (a few thousand rupees a year for a normal business site).
Our prices at LeadUp
Our Launch plan is ₹49,000, one time. It covers up to six pages, a mobile-friendly design, on-page SEO, Google Analytics and Search Console, a WhatsApp button and lead form, one round of revisions and thirty days of support after launch. Larger custom sites and web apps start at ₹1,49,000 on our Scale plan, which adds a custom design system, up to 25 pages or one web app module, a blog you can edit and conversion tracking. Every quote is fixed before we start, and the domain, code and hosting are in your name.
What pushes the price up
Bilingual Tamil and English pages roughly double the writing and checking work. Online payments, bookings, customer accounts and admin panels are software, not pages, and they take most of the time on any project. Custom photography and video, product catalogues with hundreds of items, and integrations with billing, CRM or WhatsApp APIs all add cost. A tight deadline adds cost too, because it means more people on the project at once.
What a cheap website usually leaves out
The low quotes are not always wrong, but check what is missing. Common gaps are no SEO setup at all, slow hosting shared with thousands of other sites, a theme that breaks when updated, no access to your own domain or hosting account, and no one to call when something goes wrong. The biggest one is ownership: if the developer registers the domain in their own name, you do not really own your website.
Questions to ask before you pay
Ask whether the quote is fixed, what exactly is included, how many revisions you get, who owns the domain and code, what happens after launch, and whether you can see two or three sites they built that are live today. A good studio will answer all of these in writing.
